Protection against fire

Fire is the most important and most likely risk in industrial plants, particularly in nuclear power plants. A fire in a nuclear installation is liable to cause incidents or accidental situations: automatic reactor shutdown, destruction of materials essential to the safety of the facility, etc. It can also lead to the dispersion of hazardous substances (radioactive or chemical) into the environment.
