Your Role

Baumert is looking for its next R&D Engineering Intern / Apprentice!
Working within a design office of 30 people, your responsibilities will include:
• Drafting technical specifications;
• Creating 3D designs and associated drawings, incorporating requirements for all product lifecycle phases while minimizing costs;
• Conducting technical feasibility studies;
• Participating in technical meetings and project reviews;
• Assisting with mechanical sizing and calculations;
• Ensuring product design aligns with specifications, regulatory requirements, and standards compliance (EN, US, etc.);
• Adhering to project schedules and budgets;
• Contributing to the development of CAD methodologies;
• Monitoring prototype manufacturing and testing phases;
• Building test benches;
• Assisting with prototype assembly;
• Participating in—or conducting—validation testing;
• Analyzing results and proposing improvements;
• Drafting technical documentation.

Your Profile:
• Student pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, specializing in mechanical design / mechanical system design / industrial product design,
• Proficiency in CAD software (ideally SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.),
• Knowledge of strength of materials (RDM), materials, and manufacturing processes,
• Knowledge of rapid prototyping / 3D printing,
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail,
• Basic understanding of project management,
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team,
• A passion for prototyping and hands-on experimentation (manufacturing, installation, testing), with a solid practical understanding of mechanical systems.
• B1 level English
